Rep. Susan Wild (PA-07) today introduced the Lobbyist Loophole Closure Act to ensure that well-connected individuals cannot exploit loopholes in federal ethics laws by being hired as “consultants” in order to avoid registering as a lobbyist. By closing this lobbying loophole, we will ensure that citizens understand who is engaging with federal elected officials and for what purposes. This legislation is a major step forward in increasing transparency around federal officials and strengthening ethics and anti-corruption efforts.

Today, U.S. Representatives Susan Wild (PA-07) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) re-introduced the bipartisan Children’s Health Insurance Program Pandemic Enhancement and Relief (CHIPPER) Act to increase support for State Children’s Health Insurance programs during the COVID–19 emergency. Federal funding for the program decreased last October.
