Report Comes as Trump Admin Seeks to Strike Down the Affordable Care Act with Supreme Court Lawsuit
Today, on the day that the Texas v. U.S. lawsuit filings are due, U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) joined Chair of Protect Our Care Leslie Dach and Statewide Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Health Access Network Robin Stelly on a Zoom roundtable to announce a new Pennsylvania Coronavirus Rural Health Report. This report demonstrates how critical the expansion of Medicaid and other protections provided through the Affordable Care Act are to rural Pennsylvanians across the Commonwealth.

Today U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07), alongside Allentown School District Superintendent Thomas Parker and Board President Sara Brace, announced the Allentown School District would receive $9.8 million in emergency funding as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Congress passed on March 27, 2020.

At least half of the funding will be distributed to students in need
Today, U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) announced that colleges and universities in Pennsylvania’s 7th District would receive $28.4 million in emergency funding as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Congress passed on March 27. At least half of the funding each institution receives will be distributed to students in the form of emergency cash assistance grants to help pay for housing, food, and other basic essentials.

Legislative package includes Wild’s bill to combat hunger for older Americans
Today, U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) applauded passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, historic families and workers-first legislation which will now go to the President’s desk for signature. Included in this comprehensive response package is the Combatting Hunger for Older Americans During Coronavirus Crisis Act, Wild’s bipartisan legislation to prioritize and improve meal delivery and nutrition services for seniors during the coronavirus outbreak. This marks the second time in one week that a bipartisan Wild bill is making its way to the President’s desk.
