Rep. Wild Announces 2020 U.S. Air Force Academy Appointees from PA-07

GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY – Today, U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) proudly announced the students from Pennsylvania's Seventh District who have accepted appointments to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Air Force Preparatory School beginning this Summer. Nominated by Wild last year, these students underwent a competitive, rigorous application process.

"I am continually so impressed by the young people in our community and their dedication to service at such a young age," Wild said. "The accomplishments of both Raquelle and Harrison are inspiring, and I am truly grateful to have been a part of their journey. I congratulate them both and thank them deeply for their commitment to serving our country."

With more than 4,000 cadets and 30 programs of study, the United States Air Force Academy is committed to educating, training, and inspiring men and women to become officers of character motivated to lead the United States Air and Space Forces in service to our nation. As a public university and a military service academy, this academy located in Colorado Springs, CO is known for its world-class education and military training and is leading the way into an increasingly complex future, driving advancement and innovation in air, space and cyberspace, among countless other fields.

Wild's Class of 2024 U.S. Air Force Academy appointee from Pennsylvania's Seventh District is Raquelle Roesch.

Raquelle is the daughter of Suzanne and William Roesch. Throughout her high school career at Nazareth Area High School, excelled at academics even while maintaining a challenging courseload while also performing as a student athlete. Raquelle reached the peak of her achievement as a student athlete by becoming captain of the Nazareth High School Swim Team during her senior year. She also participated in the Blue Eagle Swim Team club team, and earned her American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, serving as a lifeguard at 2 community pools. She was a member of Key Club and participated in the Science Olympiad during her high school career, and she organized 2 successful community food drives. She attended the 2019 Keystone Girls State and is a recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award. She is member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Raquelle has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy. She will be continuing a family tradition of military service, following in the footsteps of her grandfathers, her uncle, and her parents who are both former USAF officers. Raquelle will be the first in this distinguished military line to attend the Air Force Academy.

Harrison Jetter, Whitehall, PA

Harrison is the son of Craig and Theresa Jetter. Throughout his high school career at Whitehall High School, Harrison excelled as a leader. An active member of the National Honor Society and the Boy Scouts of America, he also served as the Assistant Minister at Redeemer Lutheran Church. An avid athlete, he participated in both varsity track and field and junior varsity and varsity football. Harrison is attending the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School.
