Rep. Wild, House Members to Travel to Israel and the West Bank
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07), a Jewish Member of Congress, will travel with a group of 42 House Democrats visiting Israel and the West Bank from August 5-11 to learn more about issues critical to the U.S. – Israel relationship and international security. The delegation will also be joined by a delegation of House Republicans for a portion of the trip.
“I am honored to accompany my colleagues to Israel and continue our nation’s commitment to one of our greatest allies,” Wild said. “Israel is an unwavering partner in one of the most volatile regions of the world, and as the only democracy in the region, the strength of the U.S. - Israel relationship is vital to both our economic and regional security. I am looking forward to the insight this visit provides into the complex issues that face our partnership and the specific ways we can reinforce this crucial relationship.”
Wild and the delegation will meet with Israeli and Palestinian officials as well as U.S. Ambassador David Friedman and the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process. They will also visit important historical, cultural, and religious locations, including the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, the Church of Nativity, Ramallah, Masada, and the Dead Sea.
The trip is organized by the American Israel Education Foundation, an independent, nonprofit charitable organization.
