Rep. Wild Receives “A+” Rating on Democracy Reform Scorecard

WASHINGTON, DC – On the tenth anniversary of the disastrous Supreme Court decision, the End Citizens United Action Fund announced that U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) has received a score of “A+” for her record of fighting the power of special interests and support for legislation to end the dominance of big money in politics, restore ethics in Washington, and protect and expand the right to vote.

“For too long, special interests have dominated conversation in the halls of power instead of the American people,” Wild said. “I was elected to help reverse this. Throughout my time in office I have made it my priority to restore power to the people of the Greater Lehigh Valley — that’s why I’m refusing to take a dime of corporate PAC money. I’m proud of my efforts to fight corruption in Washington because it is critical to making progress on every other issue folks in my community care about – from drug prices to climate change."

In receiving her “A+” rating, Wild was recognized for championing key legislation to protect our elections from foreign interference, ensure every eligible voter can cast a ballot free from discrimination, and restore political power to the American people, including:

• H.R. 1, the For the People Act, a comprehensive government reform measure to address the influence of dark money in politics, put in place national redistricting reform, impose higher ethics standards on public officials, and make it easier for Americans to vote.
• H.R. 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act, to restore the protections of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
• H.R. 2722, the SAFE Act, an election security bill that authorizes a $600 million Election Assistance Commission (EAC) grant program to assist states in securing election infrastructure.
• H.R. 4617, the SHIELD Act, a bipartisan election security bill to prevent foreign interference in our elections and defend the integrity of our voting systems.
