Rep. Wild Secures More Than $20 Million For Shuttered Venues in PA-07

September 7, 2021
Press Release

Today, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) announced that more than $20 million in relief funding was coming home to businesses in her district as part of the Shuttered Venue Operator Grant, which Rep. Wild secured as part of the American Rescue Plan.

“Small businesses that depend on live experiences and performances have been especially hard hit for the last seventeen months during the pandemic, and I am relieved that this much-needed funding is heading their way to help ensure they can keep serving our community,” said Rep. Wild. “The Greater Lehigh Valley is home to some incredible theaters, museums, and live performing arts centers that enrich our area every day. These entertainment venues deliver great enjoyment and provide economic benefits to the rest of their community— supporting jobs, restaurants, and the travel industry. I’m proud to have secured this funding to keep them going.”

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program, as part of the American Rescue Plan, allocated $16 billion total in grants to shuttered venues across the country, administered by the Small Business Administration. More information is available here about the program.
