Representative Susan Wild Prioritizes Workforce Development for the 15th District
Washington D.C.— With only five weeks to represent the 15th District, Representative Susan Wild (PA-15) has prioritized workforce development and raising workers’ wages. Last week, she signed on as a co-sponsor to a legislative package introduced by Rep. Anthony Brown (MD-4) which would invest in career and technical training programs for high school students (H.R. 6685), incentivize employers to invest in training programs for their employees (H.R. 6694) and encourage federal agencies to hire contractors that participate in high-impact apprenticeship programs (H.R. 6693). In addition, today, Representative Wild signed on to the Paycheck Fairness Act (H.R. 1869) to push her colleagues to support equal pay for equal work. All of these initiatives will provide important job opportunities and improve labor conditions to help working families in Pennsylvania’s 15th district.
“Policies that support and invest in our working families are policies that are good for Pennsylvania’s 15th District,” said Representative Susan Wild. “We must prioritize investment in tomorrow’s workforce by building out strong, high-impact apprenticeship programs and ensuring that every young person can access affordable higher education that fits their needs. A four-year college education should no longer be the default. Access to apprenticeships and career and technical training programs are essential to ensure our young people can get well-paying jobs in our district. These bills put the needs of working people front and center which will always be central to my legislative agenda.”
