TODAY: Wild, Cartwright to Hold Virtual Press Conference, After House Passed Funding to Support PA Schools

(Lehigh Valley) – Representatives Susan Wild (PA-07) and Matt Cartwright (PA-08) will host a virtual press conference today, Friday, March, 5th at 9:30 AM ET after voting to pass the American Rescue Plan in the House last week to help crush the COVID-19 virus and get the economy moving again with shots in arms, money in pockets, children in schools and people in jobs.

• Cartwright and Wild will highlight nearly $130 billion the American Rescue Plan makes available to State Education Departments immediately so they can:
  • Get schools open safely,
  • Keep schools open safely, and
  • Make up for lost learning time.
• The American Rescue Plan also provides resources for higher education, Head Start and childcare facilities.
• Superintendents, schools boards, the PTA and other school groups have told Congress they need the American Rescue Act.
