Mental Health in Schools Excellence Program Act Would Improve Access to Health Services and Providers
Congresswoman Susan Wild (PA-07) and Congresswoman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) introduced the Mental Health in Schools Excellence Program Act. This legislation addresses the critical shortage of mental health professionals, like school psychologists, social workers, and counselors. Specifically, authorization is granted to establish partnerships between the Department of Education and eligible graduate programs to cover up to 100 percent of attendance costs for students who complete five years of service as a school-based mental health service provider.

Ethylene oxide (EtO), a gas commonly used to sterilize medical equipment, is linked to cancers including breast cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and others.

A diverse group of freshman House Democrats wrote to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer calling for a renegotiated USMCA that supports working families, a clean environment and healthy communities in all three countries
U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07), a member of the New Democrat Coalition and the House Committee on Education and Labor, led 27 freshman House Democrats in a letter sent today to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, in which the lawmakers laid out their concerns about the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) and calling for negotiations be re-opened so that changes could be made. Along with Wild, the letter was led by Rep. Andy Levin (MI-09) and Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04).
