Washington D.C. – Last night, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) spoke on the floor shortly before her bill, the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act, passed the House. The bipartisan legislation received broad bipartisan support and heads back to the Senate for a final vote.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representatives Susan Wild (PA-07) and Cindy Axne (IA-03) sent a letter to President Biden and leadership in the House and Senate to urge preventative action against harmful cuts to Medicare reimbursements. These cuts are set to take effect on January 1st, 2022 and would devastate frontline workers, including those at hospitals and other health care settings.

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) led a group of her colleagues in sending a letter to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona to urge him to take necessary steps to support and protect student loan borrowers. The Department of Education is spending this Fall and Winter engaged in a public negotiated rulemaking process to discuss changes to higher education policy, including updates to federal student loan repayment plans. Through this process, the Department of Education has an opportunity to make higher education more affordable and accessible for students and their families.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) joined fourteen of her Democratic colleagues in writing a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer urging immediate action to address the high cost of prescription drugs in the United States. Prescription drug reform was not included in the original framework of the Build Back Better Act released last week. The letter was led by Representative Angie Craig (MN-02) and fellow majority-makers from the 2018 class who are still fighting for drug pricing reform's inclusion in the final legislative text, which is currently being negotiated in Washington.

"I am glad to see progress be made to help lower costs for seniors and families across the country, and this deal has my support and my vote. For too long, the high cost of prescription drugs has cost Americans billions at the pharmacy counter, leaving some patients to ration their medication or skip doses all together so they can still put food on the table. This broken system begins to end today. Allowing Medicare to negotiate down the price of some prescription drugs, limit Big Pharma's price hikes, bring down the soaring cost of insulin, and reduce out-of-pocket costs for seniors are critical first steps, but this battle is far from over.

Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Susan Wild (PA-07) along with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-08) reintroduced bipartisan legislation to lower prescription drug costs for children and hard-working families. The Fair Drug Prices For Kids Act would give states the ability to purchase medication at the lowest price offered by drug manufacturers, lowering the costs of those medications for millions of children and saving state and federal dollars.

"Attacking people in their place of worship is a crime against humanity, and both of these terrorist attacks constitute a stark reminder that the conflict in Afghanistan is not over for the Afghan people. There is a collective responsibility to protect Afghan citizens, especially women and children, from these horrific attacks by Islamic State-Khorasan and all extremist groups.
