Washington, DC – This week, Congresswoman Susan Wild (D-PA) joined a bipartisan coalition of House members in introducing the Coordinated Action to Capture Harmful (CATCH) Emissions Act, which will boost carbon capture tax credits for industrial facilities and power plants, resulting in lower greenhouse gas emissions and spurring additional innovation in clean energy technologies. Studies have shown how critical carbon capture will be to reaching US emissions targets, particularly for the manufacturing sector, and by adjusting the 45Q tax credit, more facilities like cement plants and steel mills will be able to move forward with carbon capture projects.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) co-sponsored the Small Business Child Care Investment Act. This bipartisan and bicameral legislation would make non-profit child care providers that are small businesses eligible to participate in all loan programs available through the Small Business Administration (SBA) – the same opportunity currently provided to for-profit providers –thereby supporting these small businesses in expanding the availability of affordable, high-quality child care to more working families. Around half of families in the United States live in "child care deserts", with few options for licensed child care.

This Saturday, May 15, 2021, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) will host an information session about military academy nominations. The event is open to all students in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District who are interested in applying to a United States Military Academy.

The event will include representatives from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, as well as a representative of the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susan Wild announced more than $86 million in emergency funding for colleges, universities, and students in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District under the American Rescue Plan. The funding will help local institutions cope with the severe financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic and continue serving their students safely. At least half of the funding each institution receives will be distributed in the form of emergency cash assistance grants to students who are facing hunger, homelessness, and other hardship.

After Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) fought for and secured more than $20 million in relief funding from the American Rescue Plan for Easton, the city announced that not only will the funds help save the jobs of city workers, but will also promote hiring for vacant city jobs. Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday night, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) paid tribute to the life of Ramon Ramirez, a constituent who was shot and killed in Upper Macungie Township on April 21 while filling up his truck at a Wawa. Mr. Ramirez was a father of three, and the shooting was determined to be yet another tragic act of senseless violence.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Susan Wild (PA-07) introduced the Safe Interactions Act, new legislation to improve interactions between law enforcement officers and people with disabilities and mental health needs. The legislation aims to create safer communities and reduce violence towards people with disabilities by funding grants for new training programs for law enforcement officers. These grants will be used to create partnerships between non-profit disability organizations and law enforcement agencies to administer enhanced training programs for law enforcement officers about interactions with people with disabilities.
